InstaForex Loprais Team: Dakar Rally 2012 Final Results
One of the most difficult races the Dakar Rally 2012 is over. Lima, the capital of Peru, witnessed on its streets the racers on 60 trucks, 78 offroaders, 97 motorcycles, and 11 quads. During 14 race days and 8,300 kilometers, the teams were in serious fight with each other and faced with hot desert sun, sleepless nights and huge load. They paid their price aiming to reach the finish line first and then stand at the winners' podium. Each participant of the Dakar Rally 2012 is worthy of great respect and admiration.
However, the Dakar rally is a sport first of all with everybody trying to outdo each other and take the first place. So, let's sum up the results.
Spectators were kept in suspense during the most popular truck race. The Kamaz Master team, a phenomenal IVECO truck, and an absolute favorite InstaForex Loprais Team competed for the number one title. The Kamaz Master was frustrated as their leader Firdaus Kabirov, an old hand in rallies, left the team. The teams finished this uncompromising struggle in different ways: InstaForex Loprais Team fought to the last but had to fall out of the race as during the final stages the truck had an accident and could not continue participation; a dark horse Petronas Team De Rooy IVECO from the Netherlands with the Dutchman racer Gerard De Rooy was the first-time winner; while the multiple-winner Kamaz Master did not take any place. These were the surprising results of the truck race within the Dakar Rally 2012.
Stéphane Peterhansel won the MINI ALL4 racing and celebrated his 10th Dakar win (Monster Energy X-raid Team).
The best in the motorcycle race was Red Bull KTM rider Cyril Despres.
In the quad category, Alejandro Patronelli was the top winner (Yamaha Patronelli Racing).
To sum up, the Dakar rally was very unpredictable this time with its wheel of fortune, which predetermined the outcome despite the talent of the racers, efficiency or vehicle condition. InstaForex Loprais Team was a step away from the final, and maybe from the victory. However, it is a competition, and may be next year a good luck will go back to the team. InstaForex Loprais Team and its leader Ales Loprais thank all their fans for their support and loyalty. Having the only one possible result in mind, they aim to win the Dakar Rally 2013.
